The Traffic Statistics Web Directory got it's 10,000th resource entry

Since it's opening on 6th of October 2004 the Traffic Statistics Web Directory grew to 10,000 resource and software entries. While the directory quickly grows and usage increases, the database behind it proved to stand the doubled number of entries due to about 10,000 spamming attempts. Though the Traffic Statistics Web Directory received tons of link spams, the directory remained as simple to use as possible for people submitting serios resources - just enter the information and press submit. The spam checks are done invisibly for honest submitters in the background based on rules and a quickly growing list of 2nd level domains being advertized

Most of the entries were submitted using a PAD file, many submitters used the help of submission software like robosoft, what is fine for this directory.

Future development of the directory is planned to pick specific use cases of computers and grain categorization more fine for these specificly picked use cases and also to build more search options for users.
